Eppie's Corner

I hope that when you visit Oakwood Cellars, you will feel at home and enjoy my wines.  Each of my wines have been hand crafted with great care since 1985 when my husband Robert Skelton and myself, Eppie, built the winery from top to bottom after taking classes at UC Davis in California. That was twenty five years ago.

I took over all the wine making in 1994 when Robert took ill, but he was a great teacher and I'm glad I paid attention. Sadly, Robert passed away in August, 1998.

Times change, but I still continue to deliver wines of distinction.

Yes, the rumors you may have heard are true:  I would like to retire and spend time traveling and spend time with the two beautiful cats that I've adopted.  They were both abandoned here at the winery 8 months apart, and you will see each of them soon on new labels for my Estate Riesling and Lemberger Blanc. I believe in supporting the Benton Franklin Humane Society and wish you would also.

A great idea for my Estate Riesling: Eppie's Mimosa's... a nice brunch or holiday drink.  Using equal parts, blend together: Oakwood Cellar's Estate Riesling, Club Soda and Orange Juice.  It depends on how many folks you are making this for... example... 2 cups Riesling, 2 cups club soda and 2 cups Orange Juice.  Enjoy!
